SMS terms
Flono does not send marketing texts. This page explains how the lead systems we build for contractors handle texting, so you know what to expect if a business that uses one texts you.
Last updated 21 October 2026
The short version
- Texts come from the business you contacted, in its own name, from its own registered text line.
- You get texts only after you agree on the business's form, or in reply to your own call or enquiry.
- Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to opt out at any time. Reply HELP for help.
- Mobile numbers and texting consent are never sold or shared for anyone's marketing.
1. Texts from Flono
Flono itself does not send marketing texts. Our own Lead Check and contact forms reply by email only. If that ever changes, we will update this page first and ask for your consent with a separate, unticked box.
2. Who sends the texts
Flono builds and monitors lead systems for US home-service contractors. When one of those systems texts you, the sender is the contractor, not Flono.
- Each contractor registers its own text line with US carriers (A2P 10DLC registration), under its own legal business name.
- Texts use the contractor's name and are written in its voice.
- The contractor approves every message, audience and schedule in writing before it goes live.
3. How you agree to texts
Every form in a Flono-built system has two unticked boxes, separate from the submit button. They name only the contractor's legal business.
Box 1: texts about your request
"I agree to receive calls and texts from [Legal Business Name] at this number about my request, including by automated technology. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. [Privacy Policy]"
Box 2 (optional): offers and reminders
"Also send me occasional offers and seasonal reminders by text from [Legal Business Name]."
You do not have to tick either box to send the form or to buy anything. If you leave box 1 unticked, the instant reply and any follow-up come by email, and you get no texts about your form.
The system records which wording you saw, when you agreed, the page you were on and the number you gave, so the business can show your consent if asked.
4. What texts you may get
- A reply to your enquiry. One instant reply when you send a form or lead form: by text if you ticked box 1, otherwise by email.
- A missed-call text-back. If you call and the business misses it, you may get one text, such as: "Hi, this is [Business]. Sorry we missed your call. How can we help? Reply STOP to opt out." It has no offers or links.
- Follow-ups about your request. Only if you ticked box 1. They stop when you book, opt out or reach the limit below.
- Appointment messages about a visit or quote you booked.
- A review request after a completed job. Every customer gets the same request, with no reward attached.
- Offers and seasonal reminders only if you ticked box 2. Lists of past customers are never bulk-texted.
5. How often, and when
Message frequency varies with your request. These limits are built into every system:
- At most 3 automated texts in any 24 hours.
- Follow-ups stop after 4 texts over 10 days. After that, any follow-up is by email.
- The instant reply to your own enquiry and the one missed-call text-back can go out at any time.
- Every other text goes out only between 9 am and 8 pm in your local time, based on your area code.
6. STOP and HELP
To stop texts
Reply STOP, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, QUIT or REVOKE. Plain-English replies such as "stop texting me" or "remove me" work too. The system stops all automated texts from that business's text line, and you get one final text confirming it. You can also ask the business by phone, in person or by email, and it must record your opt-out within 1 business day.
To get help
Reply HELP to get the business's name and how to contact it. You can also contact the business directly.
7. Rates and delivery
Msg & data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
8. Privacy
We do not sell, rent or share mobile phone numbers or text-messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.
This line appears in Flono's privacy policy and in the privacy policy of every business that uses a Flono-built system. Flono handles that data only as the business's service provider, as explained in section 8 of our privacy policy.
On calls: no outbound AI calls are ever made. Call recording and transcription are off by default. If a business turns them on, you hear a notice before the call connects.
9. For contractors: your own SMS terms
Carriers check your website before they approve your text line. As part of setup, we write your SMS terms and privacy wording with you and publish them on your site. They follow this pattern, using your exact legal business name:
[Legal Business Name] SMS terms
When you tick the box on our form, you agree to receive calls and texts from [Legal Business Name] about your request, including by automated technology. Consent is not a condition of purchase.
If you also tick the offers box, we may text you occasional offers and seasonal reminders.
Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. You can also contact us at [business phone] or [business email].
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
We do not sell, rent or share mobile phone numbers or text-messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. See our privacy policy: [link].
Your site also needs a privacy policy with that last line, business details that match your registration, and the two unticked boxes on every form. This is not legal advice. Your own lawyer has the final say on your wording.
10. Questions
For texts from a business, contact that business first. If you cannot reach it, or a STOP reply did not work, email hey@flonodigital.com with the business name and the number that texted you. We will make sure your opt-out is recorded and let the business know.
